During the past thirty years Shigeyuki has made more than twenty screenprints showing birds in flight. Ten examples are included in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. These birds were typically backlit by the sun which meant that their silhouetted shape and colors were the only clues to their identity. White shapes resembling gulls (prints 1-9) were drawn most often. In Shigeyuki’s pictures it is the absence of detail which makes them memorable. To see more prints by Shigeyuki click here.
